Published to accompany the 1986 retrospective of French-American photographer Bernard Pierre Wolff, held at Espace Photographique de la Ville de Paris (Espace Photo Paris). This exhibition was organized as a tribute following Wolff’s death from AIDS in January 1985. The exhibition showcased a selection of Wolff’s black-and-white photographs spanning from 1971 to 1984. The images capture scenes from various cities, including New York, Tokyo, London, New Delhi, Mexico City, and Genoa often focusing on marginalized individuals and urban life. Includes thumbnail image of one of Wolff’s most iconic images, a photograph taken in the Monumental Cemetery of Staglieno in Genoa, The image was later used by Joy Division for the cover of their 1980 album Closer. A very good copy in photo-illustrated wrappers.
