(Houston): Menil Collection, 1987. Exhibition catalogue. The first catalogue to be published after Warhol’s death. This one of 83 examples (the same number as the paintings in the show) with an imprint in aqua of the artist’s signature stamp, a small version especially made by the estate for this purpose, and destroyed thereafter. Catalogue is illustrated throughout and includes the artist’s essay ‘Painter hangs own paintings’. A fine copy, scarce with stamp.
