WARHOL, Andy. Guns, Knives, Crosses.

(Madrid): Galeria Fernando Vijande, [1982].  First edition.  Quarto.  Unpaginated.  Rare, and cool catalogue for the Warhol exhibition of the same title at Galeria Fernando Vijande, December, 1982 – February, 1983.  Includes an interview with Andy Warhol by Rodrigo Vijande and Alfred Nadaff in English and Spanish.  The show debuted Warhol’s experimentation with abstracting images of guns, knives, crosses, and dollar signs. By taking these items and abstracting them, Warhol once again challenged the viewer to question the status and meaning of these familiar symbols in light of their Pop aesthetic. Illustrated with examples of the work.  A very good plus copy in card covers with integral flaps.
