WALKOWITZ, Abraham. Isadora Duncan in Her Dances.

(Girard, KS): Haldeman-Julius Publications, 1950. First edition thus. Quarto. 12 pages of text, including introductory texts by Maria-Theresa, Carl Van Vechten, Mary Fanton Roberts, Shaemus O’Sheel and Arnold Genthe. Followed by 19 pages of drawings by Walkowitz including dance sequences of a ballet, Martha Graham, Agna Enters, a group of pupils of Isadora, and Drawings Against War and Fascism with a one page introduction by Konrad Bercovici. Walkowitz met Duncan in Auguste Rodin’s studio and went on to complete over 5000 drawings of her. The Duncan drawings can be interpreted as representations of Walkowitz’s loftiest goals.
