Strip Searching: An inquiry into the strip searching of women remand prisoners at Armagh Prison between 1982 and 1985.

(London): National Council for Civil Liberties, 1986.  First edition.  36 page booklet.  An inquiry that was established as a result of conflicting reports about the way in which strip searches of women at Armagh prison in Nothern Ireland have been carried out.  It gives personal accounts of the way in which strip searches are apparently conducted, studies the political context leading up to the introduction of routine searches in 1982 and the rationale for the increased incidence of such searching.  The volume concludes with a number of recommendations for change.  A very good copy in stapled wrappers.
