Silvia, Pete. Little Black Book.

[New York, NY]: Pete Silvia, 1995.  First edition.  Oblong 12mo.  Unpaginated.  A  xerographic print portfolio of erotic images of the artist posing in various fetish/drag costumes comprised of ten color and ten black and white illustrations. Silvia, an often overlooked erotic artist, explores themes of the human body, gender, and sexuality in a variety of media. In addition to xerox and digital art, Silvia performed as a musician, published Newave comix, wrote poetry, curated exhibitions in a tattoo parlor basement, managed the New York art gallery rt @ Large, and ran a TV show called The Malignant Muse on which he interviewed contemporary artists while performing in drag. In his online autobiography, Silvia describes himself as enduring “through this life questioning the inanities of this world and the motherfuckers who would own it.” His creative work expresses that same sense of candour, originality and spunk.  A very good copy in plain black wrappers housed publisher’s printed envelope.  Published in an edition of 76 numbered copies signed by the author.
