SHRIGLEY, David. Fragments of Torn-up Drawings.

BQ, 2011. First edition. Softcover. 28 × 21 cm. 96 pages. Illustrated in black and white and colour throughout. Exhibition catalogue for Shrigley’s 2011 exhibition at BQ, Berlin. A collection of drawings, fragments and visual jokes in which Shrigley’s characteristically deadpan humour and deliberately crude graphic style turn discarded and apparently incidental marks into finished works. The book embraces the fragmentary nature of the drawings, presenting them as a loose and irreverent catalogue of Shrigley’s observations, absurdities and darkly comic inventions. A very good copy in spiral bound wrappers.
