Charles Company, 1945.  First edition.  Paperback original.  A swellelegant little guide to the hep dialect of the ‘with it’.  Published at the height of the swing and jive eras the volume provides a wonderful insight to the language in use, back when Count Basie and Duke Ellington were the kings of cool.  As well as the jive glossary the volume is illustrated with photographic portraits of the likes of Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Carter etc.  A good copy, wrapper slightly asked as issued, some creasing, short tears to cover.  Scarce.
