(Munich): Bayerische Werke AG, 2010.  First edition.  Octavo.  Unpaginated.  An amazing book featuring a unique integrated remote-controlled car that enables the book to be driven. The volume was issued to celebrate forty years of the BMW Group’s cultural involvement in the fields of contemporary art, classical music, and jazz, architecture and design and is illustrated with more than fifty colour illustrations that illustrate the spectrum of BMW’s projects within these fields.  The volume is in in fine condition published in a limited edition of 1488 signed copies.  When each volume is placed together the covers depict a bird’s eye view of the BMW headquarters built by Karl Schwanzer in 1972.  Consequently, each book cover becomes a fragmented, unique specimen.  The volume is housed in the publisher’s plain box, with remote control and publicity material laid-in.  An amazing interpretation of book design.  Rare, no copies were offered for sale, and no copies located on OCLC.
