ROE, Charlie and Jim Schwenck. The Home Bartender’s Guide and Song Book.
(New York, NY): The Experimenter Publications, 1930. First edition. Quarto. 96 pages. Cool mix of recipes and songs. Recipes range from those found in other cocktail manuals to many that have since disappeared – in some cases for good reason, while the songs date back to the fin de siècle era of the Gay Nineties. The volume is illustrated by Bob Dean, an early 20th century newspaper cartoonist. A very good copy in pictorial boards, lightly worn and rubbed along the edges with a surface scratch to front left corner. Boards very slightly bowed, still a nice copy of this scarce and charming cocktail book published during the prohibition era.
