PEDAN, Misha. M.

(Sweden): Khimaira Publishing, 2015. First edition. Small oblong quarto. Unpaginated. A fascinating collection of photographs depicting a seemingly dull, grey existence. All the photographs are taken while commuting on the subway of Kharkov during 1985-86. Each day Pedan travelled for 45 minutes into town and 45 minutes back, spending some 1000 hours in the tube. These are the people he saw. All the photos were taken in secret. The volume serves as a poetic chronicle of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic — an everyday that seems so dull, grey and lifeless. A near fine copy in photo-illustrated wrappers with integral flaps.  Signed by the photographer.
