The Original Great Springout: A Megalopolitan Peacepipe Pow-Wow.

(New York, NY): [Spring Mobilization], 1967.  First edition.  Scarce A4 Flyer for an event on saturday April 15th, 1967 organised by The Mobilization who were based in Greenwich Village and was backed by rotherhood of the Love of Christ, Community of Poets, Easter Coast Spring Ball, East Village Other, Innerspace, Jade Companions, League for Spiritual Discovery, Liberty House, New American Church, Peace Eye, Psychedelic Fellowship and USCO.  The event promised ‘Many Smokes and Spring Seasonings’–Lites, Kites, Pipes, Rites, Sights, Beads, Reeds, Bells, Shells, Smells, Cells, Kids. Aimals. Flowers, Feathers, Corn, Bananas, Peppers, Seeds, Nuts, Forbidden Fruits, Instruments.  Scheduled to commence at 11.00am for a parade to the United Nations building, by 9:30 there were already several hundred hippies gathered on one grassy knoll in central park, everyone clutching a yellow daffodil.  Many were also wearing buttons with the yellow submarine sprouting daffodils out its periscope which had become symbol of the youth peace movement.
