NICKERSON, Camilla and Neville WAKEFIELD. Fashion Photography of the Nineties.
(Zurich, Berlin and New York): Scalo, 1996. First edition. The scarcer hardcover issue. Quarto. 239 pages. A compilation of over 200 images culled from the art and fashion world. Images where the body and its gestures report on the defining characteristics of a decade. Includes work by Richard Prince, David Sims, Paolo Roversi, Nan Goldin and Cindy Sherman as well as many others. A near fine copy in dust jacket. This example inscribed to Paul [Boudens] by Walter Van Beirendonck (and others). Boudens a pioneer of graphic design, helped the Belgian fashion industry to establish its identity with his quirky designs, in which handcrafted elements often play a major role. A nice association, aside from his leading graphic design for Walter Van Beirendonck, the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and MoMu – Fashion Museum Antwerp, Boudens also created universes for Yohji Yamamoto, Dries Van Noten, Jurgi Persoons, Haider Ackermann, Olivier Theyskens, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s Rosas dance company.
