Fabulous book celebrating both Harlem and the iconic haberdasher and atelier of Dapper Dan who introduced high fashion to the borough, Captured by filmmaker and photographer Ari Marcopoulis, he explores the New York neighbourhood where the fashion icon first blended haute couture with hip-hop style. Brimming with original images of the neighbourhood, it boasts famous faces and friends of the creatives. Illustrated with black and white landscape photographs which are printed bible type paper with tipped in colour photographic prints, ordinary (well yellow) pages printed in colour explore Dan’s atelier and profile the man himself. A near fine copy, leather bound, gilt lettering, inset photo-plate of Dapper Dann, with gold silk ribbon bookmark. Housed in plain white card box. Published in an edition of 500 copies, sold out on publication and now quite difficult to locate.
