Important and increasingly scarce feminist underground comix publication produced by Lyn Chevli and Joyce Farmer under the pseudonyms “Chin Lyvely” and “Joyce Sutton.” Originally intended as the second issue of Tits & Clits, the comic was retitled Pandoras Box Comix following the 1973 obscenity prosecutions surrounding underground comix distribution in California. Published by the pair’s Nanny Goat Productions imprint, the comic combines sexual satire, feminist social criticism, autobiographical material, and parody directed at the male-dominated underground comix scene. Notable contents include stories featuring the Peters Sisters, satirical takes on contemporary romance comics, and “The American Dream,” a darker narrative examining domestic oppression and female rage.
