LUSCHER, Ingeborg. Dokumentation über A. S. ‘Der größte Vogel kann nicht fliegen’.

(Cologne): Studio DuMont Schauberg, 1972.  First edition.  Small square quarto.  Unpaginated.   Fascinating documentation of A.S. [Armand Schultes] who in 1951 retired to live in a large chesnut forest in Switzerland.  Once there A.S. began to copy information from books and newspapers painting the texts onto flattened food cans and boards.  These were then hung on the trees encyclopaedically to form a vast library of knowledge.  This volume contains the photographs of  A.S. and his forest library and Swiss / German artist, Ingeborg Luscher’s discussions with this fascinating outsider which took place during 1969-1971 whilst she documented his life and work.  A very good copy in wrappers.  Laminate lifting in places.  Uncommon.
