LUCHFORD, Glen. Damaged Negatives.

(New York, NY): Dashwood Books, 2013. First edition. Softcover. 24.5cm by 17.8cm. Unpaginated. Cool little volume that features never before seen images that were damaged by a flood in Luchford’s storage facility. The book is an exhumation of that wrecked archive. Figures – including a young Kate Moss – swim mystically in clouded and caththonic black and white, as if reflected in ancient mirrors or trying to interject from a different time. On some images, the damage manifests itself like burnishing and cigarette holes; on others, faces are obscured entirely by whorls of oxidation that lend the sitters and their environments an arcane type of poetic importance. A very good copy in stapled wrappers. Published in an edition 1000 copies.
