Important conceptual artist’s consisting of grids composed from colour photographic images arranged according to serial and modular systems characteristic of LeWitt’s practice during the 1970s. Using repetition, permutation, sequencing, and formal constraint, the work extends the artist’s investigations into geometry and systematic structure into photographic form, treating the grid simultaneously as compositional device, conceptual framework, and organisational method.
Rather than functioning as conventional photographic studies, the images operate cumulatively through ordered relationships and visual progression, reflecting LeWitt’s longstanding interest in seriality, mathematical logic, and the execution of pre-determined systems.
