KURTIS, Seba. Drowned.

(No place): Here Press, 2011.  First edition.  Chapbook.  [20 pages].  The first publication from this small press founded by founded by The Wire‘s art director Ben Weaver and Harry Hardie.  A collection of documentary photography made by shooting the fenced off coastline at the crossing between Africa’s north-west coast to the Canary Islands, in which Kurtis responds to the tragic occurrence of refugees dying during the course of their voyage across the Mediterranean Sea. The film was immersed in salt water so as to damage the chemical composition and consequently, the developed images.  A near fine copy in stapled wrappers housed in a clear plastic travel wallet.  Signed by the photographer.  Not stated but reportedly published in an edition of just 150 copies.
