KING, J.D. and HOLMSTROM, John. Stop!

(New York): Stop Publications, 1982-1984. Issues 1-9 all published. Quarto. Following the demise of Punk, John Holmstrom teamed up with J.D. king to publish Stop! a small, independent fanzine dedicated to pop culture, comics, and wild parties which was critically appreciated but less than successful commercially. Dale Ashmun contributed his “Spare Parts” column (now published in PSYCHOTRONIC Magazine) to all issues. Ken Weiner and Peter Bagge were frequent contributors. Dennis Worden, David Coulson, Mark Voger, Joey Ramone, Drew Friedman and Powell Burns occasionally contributed. Cover stories included The Honeymooners, Bullwinkle, John Candy, The Three Stooges, and Soupy Sales. The most interesting features were usually the obituaries. All issues in at least near fine condition. Complete runs are uncommon.
