(London): Biba, 1973.  First edition.  Broadside newspaper.  16 pages.  Scarce newspaper that that was handed out at the opening of ‘Big Biba’ a seven floor ‘hippy Harrods’ department store at 99 – 117 Kensington High Street.  Attracting up to a million visitors a week the store quickly became one of London’s leading tourist attractions.  There were different departments, and each floor had its own theme, such as a children’s floor, a floor for men, a book store, a food market, and a “home” floor which sold items such as wallpaper, paint, cutlery, soft furnishings and even statues.  The Rainbow Restaurant”, which was located on the fifth floor of the department store and was destined to become a major hang-out for rock stars.  The newspaper is in very good condition, short tear to back page at fold.  Complete with the ‘lifts and staircase’ game and James Wedge poster.
