Histoire d’un Godmiche: traduit pour la 1ère fois de l’anglais.

First edition.  17.7cm by 11.4cm.  99 pages.  Satirical erotic novella, published anonymously under a French-language title. It was presented as “translated for the first time from the English”, though no prior English version is confirmed to have existed before this printing.  The narrative humorously explores the origin and adventures of a dildo, personified as a protagonist in a series of risqué tales set in the 18th century. The story uses the dildo to satirize religious institutions and societal norms of the time.  A very good copy in later binding with leather title label (worn) to the spine.  Rare.
