HEINECKEN, Robert. Lessons in Posing Subjects.

(Brussels): WEILS and Triangle Books, 2014. First edition. Oblong quarto. 56 pages. Published on the occasion of the exhibitions, of the same title, in Brussels, Liverpool and Fribourg. The volume presents the series Lessons in Posing Subjects which Heinecken created in 1981-1982, by deconstructing model positioning taken from images in mail order catalogues and adding alongside an ironic text. Stances include Hands in Hair and the One Hand on Hip, often referred to by the media as ‘Teapotting’. As amusing as it is candid, the work is in a satirical study which plays on American consumerism. A near fine copy in spiral bound wrappers. Published in an edition of 1000 copies.
