(Japan): Sam Chan Ltd., [2018].  First edition.  Hardcover.  25.5cm by 32.5cm.  Unpaginated.  Cool volume of colour images from the streets of San Francisco (and a few from Los Angeles).  Harding has been photographing the streets of San Francisco for over forty years, the images here, though are from 2017 and 2018 a peroid when San Franciso seemed to teeter on the brink as the gap between the haves and the have-nots widened daily into a chasm. The splendor of the city’s soaring new buildings is matched only by the wretchedness of those who live on its streets. Harding’s pictures neither elevate nor condemn. They just ask us to notice.  Here we have the protests, the homless, the pretty and the peculiar.  A very good copy in black cloth with inset photo-plates, embossed title.  Bumped to top corner.  Published in an edition of just 50 copies, signed by the photographer, and thus now exceedingly scarce.
