GUNDLACH, F.C. ModeWeilten: Photographien 1950 bis heute.

(Berlin): [Frölich & Kaufmann], 1985. First edition. Folio. 267 pages. Includes and interview with Gundlach and an essay by Hg. Klaus Honnef. Superb volume illustrating the work of the most significant German fashion photographer. Working for high-circulation magazines such as Film und Frau (1952-1966) and Brigitte (1963-1986) he set the stage for the ever-changing vogues of fashion and thus reflected the ideals of self and beauty. Gundlach’s oeuvre covers fashion from the optimistic post-war years to the beginning of postmodernism, from Paris Haute Couture to Prêt-à-Porter, and from Berlin Chic to the colourful designs of the 1980s. A very good plus copy in illustrated wrappers.
