GRAY, Dorothy. Your Dowry of Beauty.

(New York, NY): Dorothy Gray, 1929.  First edition.  12mo.  15cm by 11.5cm.  48 pages.  Rare little beauty catalogue with hints and tips directed towards mature, female clients who had the time and money to devote to the skin-care treatments and cosmetics available through Dorothy Gray salons.  Gray learned the tricks of the trade whilst working for Elizabeth Arden but was fired apparantly for living with a man without being married to him.  Most of Gray’s treatments and products were based on what she had learnt during her time as a treatment girl with Elizabeth Arden. Arden was furious about this having conveniently forgotten that most of her treatments were copied from Eleanor Adair.  A very good copy in stapled wrappers complete with detachable product order form.  Presumably a publicity brochure issued yearly for a number of years.  OCLC locates a single copy for both 1928 and 1930 (but not for 1929).
