Smith in 1798 it was thought this was the house in which the conspirators met before the Gunpowder Plot, and probably well-founded, as the lease was held by John Gerard and mentioned by the conspirators in their depositions].  A good copy, some foxing, in dusty and marked dust jacket, still a solid copy.
