Galimberti travelled throughout the United States, from New York City to Honolulu, meeting gun owners and photographing them with their firearms and collections in their homes and neighbourhoods. The portraits are accompanied by accounts of the owners and their firearms, based on interviews.
The book considers the place of firearms in American society through four themes: Family, Freedom, Passion and Style, examining the cultural and constitutional significance of the Second Amendment. Galimberti’s often unsettling portraits offer an intimate, unusual and perhaps disturbing view of the relationship between Americans and their guns. A very good copy in glossy wrappers.
