(San Francisco, CA): City Lights Books, 1963-1978.  First edition.  Octavo.  112, 280, 229 and 253 pages.  Volumes one – four.  A complete set of this literary journal which Ferlinghetti started in 1963 and was completed with volume four 15 years later.  The entire Beat pantheon, including Ginsberg, Burroughs, Kerouac, Ed Sanders, Gary Snyder, and Neal Cassady, contributed to the first issue.  The additional issues included the beats along side writing from around the world.  Issues in very good condition, previous owner’s name to title page.  Issue two in poor condition, with wear and creasing to wrappers, old stain to edges, and previous owners editorial notes to title and copyright page.  Issued over a fifteen year period complete sets are scarce.
