(No place): Fashion Group Foundation, Inc., 1985.  First edition.  Quarto.  30cm by 23cm.  79 pages.  Cool overview of the work of Rudi Gernreich, one of fashions true innovators, the father of the topless bathing suit and the pubikini, his clothes were censored by the Vatican, denounced by the Kremlin, discovered by Life, covered by Time, Uncovered by Look, banned in Cannes and expo’ed in Japan.  The volume includes a foreword by Issay Miyake in Japanese and English.  Introductory essay, Looking Back at a Futurist, by Marylou Luther.  The volume is illustrated throughout with examples of the designer’s most daring creations thru the early years til the mid-80s.  A good copy only, with short closed tear to last page, in wrappers with cover image of the designer.  Wrappers worn at base of spine.  Scarce.
