DEMBO, A. and J. Imbelloni. Deformaciones: Intencionales del CuerpoHumano de Caracter Etnico.

(Buenos Aires): Jose Anesi, nd [1938]. First edition. Possible second printing, with jacket stating 2nd thousand. Octavo. 348 pp. An early work on body modification across cultures. The volume is devoted to intentional deformation of the body with sections on scarification, piercing, cranial shaping, teeth filing, and also includes a lengthy section on tattooing. The volume is illustrated throughout with both photographic plates and line drawings. This is a very good example in a very good example of the scarce dust jacket.  A nice copy of this important work which is often cited in modern studies.
