DEMBO, A. and J. Imbelloni. Deformaciones: Intencionales del CuerpoHumano de Caracter Etnico.
(Buenos Aires): Jose Anesi, no date, . First edition. Octavo. 348 pp. An early work on body modification across cultures. The volume is devoted to intentional deformation of the body with sections on scarification, piercing, cranial shaping, teeth filing, and also includes a lengthy section on tattooing. The volume is illustrated throughout with both photographic plates and line drawings. This is a very good example bound in black leatherette over boards, backed and tipped in green linen with title stamped in gilt on a red field at spine. Top edge died orange. This example inscribed by co-author J. Imbelloni on a small piece of paper tipped onto the first blank. Additional ownership signature to title page. A nice copy of this important work which is often cited in modern studies.
