(New York, NY): Art-Rite Publishing Co., 1973-1978. Issues; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11/12 (double issue), 13, 14, 15, 17, 18 19, and 20. A near complete run, of this important art magazine, lacking only the final issue (21), issue 16 was never published. Art-Rite sought to create a kind of critiscm that was accessible and unpretentious in doing so it forged an iconolastic, experimental style of criticism , focusing on younger lesser-known artists in SoHo who the editors encouraged to write for the magazine and use it as a medium. Contributors included Lucy Lippard, Gordon Matta-Clark, Barbara Radice, Laurie Anderson, John Baldessari, Julian Schnabel, Daniel Buren, Jack Smith, Sol LeWitt, and many, many others. The magazine adopted a humble zine like format with newsprint pages and covers by a number of artists including Les Levine, William Wegman, Richard Tuttle, Christo, Vito Acconci, Joseph Beuys, Edward Ruscha, Carl Andre, and others. All issues in very good or better condition.
