The story, told through diary entries, letters and drawings, of James Lawrence Slatterly, who became Andy Warhol’s superstar Candy Darling. The volume reveals her confusion about her sexuality and gender identity, her loneliness, desperation, and ultimate frustration at society’s refusal to accept her and its rejection of who she truly was. Darling’s life is summarized in a short poem at the end of the book titled “Stardusk”. A very good copy in puffy pink boards with gold lettering and padlock with the two keys present. Now quite scarce.
