(Sante Fe, NM.): Twin Palms Publishers, 2012.  First edition.  Large quarto.  Unpaginated.  Scarce first printing of Brodie’s compelling first book.  A photographic documentation of his journeys, walking, hitchhiking and train-hopping across the United States, and the hobos, vagabonds and fellow travellers he met along the way. The  images are raw yet beautiful, intimate and honest, the danger and the joy of the road (and the railroad) resonating throughout. Although he may never again pick up a camera, with this volume and its spell of fierce creativity Brodie has cemented his place as one of the great documentarian’s of US travel photography.  A fine copy in dust jacket.  This example signed by the photographer on the title-page.
