BLUME, Anna and Bernhard. SX-70: Polaroids 1975-2000.

(Cologne): Walther Konig, 2010. First edition. Oblong quarto. 158 pages. Foreword, in English, French and German, by Jean-Luc Monterosso. Essays by Emmanuelle de l’Ecotais and Francoise Paviot. Nice volume on the work of the Blume’s, considered one of the pioneers of staged photography, they treated the genre of the artist’s self-portrait to a transformation, distorting their faces with trivial objects such as coat hangers and household utensils, in order to “put to rest the myth of the portrait and the autonomy of the subject it seeks to convey.” A very good copy in dust jacket with obi.
