BEER, Olivier. Lucien Herve: L’Homme Construit.

(Paris): Editions du Seuil, 2001. First edition.  Quarto.  223 pages.  Text in French.  Great work on the Hungarian photographer, notable for his architectural photography.  Herve was one of the rare photographers to combine a humanist outlook with an architect’s eye. His characteristic style of cropped frames, plunging or oblique views, and pared-down compositions tending toward abstraction distinguished his work from that of his contemporaries.  A near fine copy in dust jacket.
