(New York, NY): HBJ, 1975. First edition. Quarto. Inspired by Karen Blixen’s Out of Africa, Beard visited Africa, photographed its wild animals, and eventually bought a home there. This volume, compiled by Beard, combines Kamante’s watercolours, and his version of the events of Out of Africa (translated and handwritten by his sons) with Blixen’s notes and previously unpublished photographs by Blixen. A very good copy in dust jacket with some edgewear and short closed tears.
