BAILEY, Fenton and Randy BARBATO. Disco Bloodbath.

(Hollywood, CA): World of Wonder, 1998. A copy of the original film script for Disco Blood Bath, later released as Party Monster. The film, based on the book by James St James, tells the story of rise and fall of the infamous New York City party promoter Michael Alig and the notorious Club Kids. Alig was ringleader of New York City’s “Club Kids,” and the majordomo for Peter Gatien’s nightclub empire (which included Limelight, the Palladium, and the Tunnel). But in 1996, Alig and his friend Robert “Freeze” Riggs argued with a drug dealer named Angel Melendez, killed him and dismembered his body in gruesome fashion before disposing of the corpse in the Hudson River. A 1998 documentary on the murder, also called Party Monster: The Shockumentary, was used for certain elements of this film which starred Macaulay Culkin as Alig in his first role for nine years. This script has been annotated by Michael Alig, who was sent it by James St James, for correction. Alig has corrected and made notes on the first four pages before giving up when he realised how much work was involved. A very good example housed in manila envelope. An important copy of this script.
