(Paris): René Kieffer, 1919.  First illustrated edition.  Octavo.  128 pages.  Gourmont’s invocations to the rose beautifully illustrated with 59 compositions by André Domin, stencilled and coloured, each composition, and each page of text is surrounded by a large frame decorated with roses and stylized leaves on a gold background, in the manner of books of hours.  Published in an edition of 560 copies this is one of 500 thereof on vellum.  A very nice copy finely bound retaining the original wrappers.  Gilt title at spine, gold tooling and raised bands.
