First published in book form in 1964, Barbarella was one of the landmark works of the French adult comic, combining science fiction, eroticism and Forest’s highly inventive visual imagination. This 1968 Losfeld edition was issued in the wake of Roger Vadim’s film adaptation starring Jane Fonda, with Forest redrawing Barbarella’s face in Fonda’s likeness and making other alterations demanded by the censors. A very good copy in wrappers illustrated with stills from the film.
