A wonderfully eccentric and playful photographic book in which Thorpe turns food into a catalogue of visual innuendo. Fruits, vegetables and other familiar foodstuffs are photographed alongside the nude human form, producing a series of witty, often surreal juxtapositions. The images are accompanied by Le Poste’s brief, mischievous captions. The first in a series that subsequently included Vin Rude, Rude Cocktails and More Rude Food. This a near fine example of the first printing.
