An appropriation of an unusual and eccentric photo book edited by Gerhard Theewen and originally issued, in 1970, by Fruit Distributors Ltd., Banana Importers, Wellington, New Zealand as a promotional cookbook produced to encourage the consumption of bananas. The original volume combines recipes with exuberant food photography and the improbable culinary possibilities of the banana. The edition has a new cover photograph by Martin Parr and includes original photographic print (10 by 15cm) by Parr, signed and numbered as part of an edition of 150 copies. This an as new still sealed example, there is a short terar to the cellophane.
