MOON, Lorna (pseud.). Too Gay! (with Lipstick Lady).
(Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK): Clifford Lewis, [1945]. First edition. Softcover. 12.5 by 9.3cm. 32 pages (final page incorrectly numbered 34). An exceptionally scarce wartime chapbook by Lorna Moon (1886–1930), the Scottish novelist, playwright and screenwriter who, after challenging Cecil B. DeMille’s views on the quality of contemporary screenplays, was invited to Hollywood, where she established herself as one of the most successful female scenarists of the silent era, writing for Greta Garbo, Gloria Swanson and other leading stars. Published posthumously, this fragile sixpenny booklet contains the stories Too Gay! and Lipstick Lady, issued in Clifford Lewis’s “Complete Novel” series. A good copy in single stappled wrappers, a little grubby. Rare, OCLC locates a single copy at the British Library.
