Conceived and executed from the artist’s Brooklyn apartment, Shibuya’s method pairs the quotidian ritual of observing morning light with the weight of front-page news, overlaying each day’s The New York Times headline with a luminous, hand-painted sky or perhaps an image aroused by the headline. A near fine copy in boards together with the publisher’s book. Published in an edition of 300 copies that quickly sold out.
