Zidlicky’s work is renowned for its dream-like, erotic, and surreal qualities. He often begins with images of nude figures, which he then transforms through techniques such as surface scratching, cross-hatching, drawing, puncturing, and ripping. These aggressive gestures encase the figures, suspending them in space and creating a unique blend of celebration of the human form with meditations on decay, destruction, and loss of personal identity.  The images are supplement with essays and an interview with the photographer.  Text in Czech and English.  A very good copy in dust jacket.
