WARHOL, Andy. Portraits and Landscapes.

(London): Timothy Taylor Gallery, 2008. First edition. 12mo. Accordion bound. Presented in a format inspired by Ed Ruscha’s seminal 1966 ‘The Sunset Strip’ publication, this exhibition catalogue brings together some 200 black and white photographs taken by Warhol, most of which have never been seen before. Shot between 1976 and 1987, they provide a remarkable insight into both Warhol’s photographic practice and his preoccupation with documenting moments of everyday life and the ordinary. Taken as he moved around Manhattan and other cities, including London, Warhol literally snapped everything that came his way, including; dog-food, toilets, sidewalks, garbage, storefronts, teacups, pigeons, drunks, cutlery and airplanes. A very good copy in card covers housed in publisher’s slipcase with silver sides and blue spine.
