[TIGEN, Tjebbe van]. Christiania: liefde en geweld

(Amsterdam): Spartacus Bond, [1977].  First edition.  Oblong octavo.  43 pages.  Very scarce booklet about the controversial squatters community in the  former military barracks of Bådsmandsstræde in the borough of Christianshavn a suburb of Copenhagen.  The objective of Christiania was to create a self-governing society whereby each and every individual holds themselves responsible over the wellbeing of the entire community. The society was intended to be economically self-sustaining. The spirit of Christiania quickly developed into one of the hippie movement, the squatter movement, collectivism and anarchism in contrast to the site’s previous military use.  The volume is illustrated throughout by Sjon ter Marsch and Pieter Boersma.  A very good copy in stapled wrappers.
