[New York, NY]: [1996].  Original drawing of a strutting figure by Stephen Sprouse.  Drawing measures approx. 33.5cm by 21.5cm  Completed in brown marker pen on verso of fax report sheet / invitation to the premier of Lynne Stopkewitch’s dark comedy, Kissed.  The drawing inscribed by Sprouse “for Baird” [Jones].  Sprouse is recognised as one of the most groundbreaking fashion designer’s of our time, he is credited with pioneering the 1980s mix of “uptown sophistication in clothing with a downtown punk and pop sensibility.  Sprouse’s graffiti based images have been utilised by both Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton in recent times.  Baird Jones a denizen of New York’s nightlife, about which he wrote for The New York Post’s Page Six column, A unique item linking two of the pioneers of New York’s cultural scene.  Drawing is in good condition, tear to bottom edge, not effecting image.  Mounted.
