RICHARDS, Stan. Hobo Signs.

(Dallas, TX): Canterbury Press, no date.  Unspecified edition.  Octavo.  Unpaginated.  Scarce volume illustrating around fifty hobo signs, printed on Westminster Torino Duo.  Drawn largely from the symbolism of medieval magic and the mystic alphabet of the Cabala, hobo signs, sometimes chalked on curbs and sidewalks or appearing as tiny pencil marks on door facings or mailboxes and gates, served as a guide to anyone who knew the code, steering them away from discomfort and danger and pointing the way to good food and a feather bed.  This a good copy in stapled black wrappers with  possible paper label to front cover, lacking.  There was also a hardcover edition published by Barlenmir House Publishers in 1974.
